Empty paragraphs
Sometimes you may have a document that has a blank page on the last page. If this is the case, you can easily get rid of it by turning on the Show/Hide characters feature and then selecting the page break or empty paragraph symbols. This will remove the extra page and get you back to your original formatting.
This is especially helpful if you are writing an essay or a report. If you want to display only the tables and the paragraph, you can change the font size and the line spacing. These will make the paragraphs small enough to fit on the previous page. You can also select the “Hide” option in the Alignment menu.
Another way to remove empty paragraphs from a page is to remove the header and footer. This way, the content that’s causing the blank page will disappear. Often, the header and footer are the culprits for the problem. To get rid of these, simply delete these elements.
Getting rid of these blank paragraphs in word is relatively simple, although you may have to write a complex macro. Manual page break
If you are looking for a way to insert a page break manually, you’ve come to the right place. You can find this option in the Review tab of the Ribbon. You’ll see a dotted line and the word “Page Break” when you hover over this button. In addition, you can click the Delete key to remove the page break.
The first step in using a page break in Word is to ensure that you know where to place the break. By default, Word will place a page break at the end of a paragraph. This will prevent it from ending on the same line, and will also keep two consecutive paragraphs together. However, if you need to insert a page break in the middle of a paragraph, you can use the manual page break option.
Next, you should know that you need to delete any paragraph marks that appear after the page break. To do this, you should first enable the option “Show all formatting marks” in the document. Then, scroll through your document and locate any page breaks that have been placed before the cursor.
You may also want to consider using a page break to prevent Word from deleting blank pages and instead begin a new page. Word will allow you to change this setting in the Layout menu under the Custom Margins tab on the Ribbon. From there, select the Section start dropdown and set it to “New page.” Select OK to have the new page display in the new section.
Manual page breaks are easy to insert with Word. All you need to do is place your cursor where you want the page break to occur and press Enter. You will then see the page break with the thick blue border.
